Introducing a new way of hands on learning in the wedding industry brought to you by Rebecca Yale, winner two years in a row of Rangefinder Magazine's Wedding Photography Award in the "Details" category. Learn how to create images worthy of magazines from a photographer published in: Martha Stewart, Brides Magazine, The Knot National and numerous local editions, Destination I Do, Destination Weddings Magazine, Flutter Magazine, Grace Ormonde and many more. This course will be a hands on interactive educational experience limited to just six students per class to learn how to style wedding invitations to create dynamic imagery for your clients and for publications.
The intimate class with just 6 students will begin with a lecture and examples by Rebecca Yale detailing her thought process behind each invitation suite and how she approaches each wedding with mindful styling. As wedding photographers, planners or stylists we want to create beautiful imagery for our clients, for the other vendors and for publications, but we also want to stay authentic to the wedding day. Rebecca will discuss how she decides on the aesthetic and vibe of each image and will go over the tools she brings in her styling kit.
The lecture will be followed by a hands on demonstration by Rebecca as she talks you through her design thought process and how she photographs a suite. After the demo each student will have the opportunity to get their hands on 3 invitation suites by world renowned designers and have the opportunity to style and photograph the suite with one-on-one feedback from Rebecca.
Classes will take place in Beverly Hills, CA and the address will be emailed out with your confirmation. Each student will receive a starter kit with the risers Rebecca uses to style along with discount codes to the premium vendors listed below to build your own kit. Most importantly, each student will leave with the knowledge and ability to create dynamic flat lays with visual interest and a new skill set to bring to your clients.
Learning from Rebecca was such a wonderful experience! Rebecca doesn't just show you how to style, she actually teaches you! She encourages you to develop your own aesthetic and style but makes sure you have an understanding of the basics of form, structure and composition to build upon. Before this workshop I could never figure out how to style shoes without looking stupid. There is so much craft that goes into flat lays and I will forever admire the styling ability of a photographer who can really nail styling and photographing the details. It's what all the magazines are looking for and it's such an important skill for the photographers we hire to have.
Rebecca's class is an incredible professional development experience, which will guide you in making the best of any wedding with so many 'ah-ha' moments! Knowing the theory of what makes an image visually appealing and interesting is essential in improving your real weddings portfolio. Since taking Rebecca's Mini Styling Workshop, I've began to apply the knowledge I gained to my weddings this season, and I am so excited about the results it produced. Rebecca's class has completely transformed my styling approach to create a more curated and editorial feel, which is so important for publications.
Rebecca's class was so helpful and informative in helping get my styling to the next level. Her eye for styling and design are incredible and her class was packed with so much knowledge, plus lots of hands on practice. I highly recommend it!
