Mechelle and Julia were married in a cherry blossom-filled ceremony at Pippin Hill Farm and Vineyards. The globe-trotting brides invited their friends and family to join them from all over the world in Virginia for the celebration.
From the combination of environmental portraits in the rolling foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains to the close-up intimate captures and fly-on the wall candids, the photographs layer together to create a portfolio that captures both the spirit of the couple and of the ephemeral spirit created at their wedding.
Mechelle and Julia embraced all things floral for their Spring wedding, infusing pastel floral prints and cherry blossoms throughout their day.
The brides said their I Do’s on Pippin Hill Vineyard’s grand lawn under an arch of peonies and cherry blossoms with the Blue Ridge Mountains in the background.
They opted for a first dance out on the lawn at cocktail hour before heading into the granary for dinner and dancing the night away under cherry blossom chandeliers.

Mechelle and Julia moved to Norway for a year shortly after getting engaged and decided to commemorate that special time in their lives with a destination engagement session in the land of the midnight sun in the stunning landscape of Flåm.
I photographed them over a few days of exploring the scenic town of Flåm with boating and hiking in the Fjords.
